Legal profession is an overarching profession which has a bearing on every walk of life. This is specially so in the contemporary society. Law profession holds out innumerable opportunities to serve the society and also attain individual goals. A person well equipped in law will be an effective and active citizen and will strive to attain excellence in his individual life and will be in a position to better serve the institution to which he belongs and the society he lives in. The study of law should be oriented to produce professionals who will take cudgels on behalf of the government, litigants, victims and the needy depending upon the situation and for justice. In addition, they shall be equipped to be peacemakers having honed the skills of dispute resolution using alternative methods. Further they shall be groomed to be policy makers and policy reformers in the context of democratic form of governance wherein they can give voice to the voiceless. A person well groomed in law will be at the centre stage in the society. At K. H. Patil School of Law, we are determined to cater to all these requirements by offering affordable legal education. I am confident, a student enrolled with us will be imbued with abilities to be an excellent professional and a public personality. I wish every student the very best during his studentship at the K.
